what do you do when you are after having dinner out with some friends and there is one particular close friend you haven't seen in a long time and you need to carry on the breeze shooting? Well you hop on her GPS and try to find a bar near the restaurant...and then you give up and text Pete the ultimate South Florida Sports Bar and Dive Bar Yelper and ask him for help. WALLLA...two pings later and Pete sends you a text directing you to Players and you KNOW if Pete is sending you its either (a) total shite or (b) a wee gem. In this case its an in-between local solid neighborhood bar with a BIG rectangular bar taking up centre stage, JUST AS IT SHOULD BE in an American neighborhood bar. There are booths along the side wall with GET THIS GUYS...an individual TV in each booth. Yeparoonie...fuc those guys who want to watch the Superbowl...I'll have my own little HGTV fest here in my own little booth. They also have a ton of tv's along the bar, big screen on the stage. Yep you get the picture. A place to come watch major games and NEVER MISS A PLAY! Three pool tables, a stage and a dance floor, a back bar for those insanely busy nights that I hope they have because the music was BANGING....hard rock, old rock, bedrock...they had it all. Oh and HOOPS...they have hoops. [I'm sure they have a whole ton of other stuff that I missed because of the good conversation] Soup, Sangwidges, Wraps and Burgers - standard bar food and nothing fancy or frou frou. You are here to WIND DOWN people and get your party on. Around $3 for a Newcastle Brown Ale. and a lobster claw tank thingy so you can catch your own dinner if you are so inclined. As we were leaving they were setting up for late night partying. $5 cover and $1 drinks. We didn't ask what kind of drinks (maybe beer? maybe well?). Too bad its not a reasonable cab ride away.

Players is a normal meet up spot for me and a girlfriend of mine. We enjoy going there because we love their chicken wings, fries and of course the margaritas. Lol. The atmosphere is casual, laid back a chill place to go. There's plenty of TV's all on different channels, so of course there's lots of guys there (hint to the single women). My only complaint about Players is that a majority of the staff are women, so the single men get waited one first while the ladies sit around waiting for the waitresses/bartenders to give us service.

Not sure why I never rated this place, but my friend and I are regulars here. Nothing fancy about the place. It's a local sports bar off of the turnpike and commercial. The service is cool and they have tons of tvs for the sports fanatic. The wings, fries and Margaritas keep me coming back to this place. I can't speak for anything else on the menu cause I always get the wings. They are really that good! Chill vibe, with chill locals who just want to chill out...

Ohhhh Players. For my place of employment Players is our traditional holiday happy hour watering hole, so I go about once a year. The main reason I don't jump for joy when someone mentions it, or go more often than I do, is that it is a smoker's friendly bar, and I myself am not all that smoker friendly, but I tolerate it. The main draw for me at Players is the drink prices. On Fridays (usually our happy hour day) they have 50% off liquor until 10pm....I am always thrilled when my tab is less than $20 even though I know I've probably had a few too many. I've never tried the food here, and I'm honestly not in a rush to do so, but they have typical sports bar fare, most of it fried, so it can't be too bad. Service here is pretty good as well. There is one bartender who has been here at least as long as I have been coming here, so she knows her job very well. The bartenders dress provocatively in corsets and fishnets, but I think for many that's party of the charm and the draw of Players.

Known this place for years, it has had its ups and down with management and staffing. Fun karaoke nights and good happy hours. The girls that work their usually provide strong drinks and good service. The biggest plus of this place is the music. The establishment itself can be cleaned up, but overall if your looking to have a few drinks with banging music, this is your spot. The food surprisingly isn't horrible for a dive bar. Wings and buffalo chicken wrap are delicious. Rough crowd later on at night, can be quite volatile , but earlier it's a chill spot to enjoy.

I adore this place... really do, however tonight I came and was greeted by such disrespect that I am glad the management with decency (Jamie) was still here and not just Jim!! How many times has his attitude and disdain for people in general gotten him punched in the face? Honestly, they really should evaluate their service level... There are several people I love and can depend on and if you see them there, feel free to order away! They are Kristina, Marlyn, Natalia, Nicole and Jamie. Some new girl w purple hair also has an awesome taste in music and makes good drinks so give her a try too. Other than that, Irene & Jim are not people to get drinks from. Their attitude leaves a horrible taste in your mouth in the lines of service and make you think twice about paying your money. The drink specials are great and the music is good. Aside from the two I mentioned, I adore this place. :)

I hadn't been back here in a while. Management seems to have changed. Stopped in for dinner and drinks after work. Was basically ignored on entrance. Found our own booth. When waitress came she seemed fake. She was sweet but something about her. When we placed our order we were brought PAPER plates! Really? I'm paying for a dinner to eat on paper plates?! Strike 1! Then our food was decent. The drinks were small, over priced, and not very alcoholic past the 2nd round. Shift changed and things were worse. There was an old slutty waitress who was more worried about showing her boobs and flirting with the drunk guys at the bar. It was ridiculous. We got our tab and moved on to the next place. I can think of better places to spend my money! Too bad because I used to go there!

Lousy service and on one occasion the wine glass given to me had lipstick on it. Needless to say it's lipstick that wasn't mine. The waitress did not check in on us to see if there was anything else we needed. It also took a while for us to be tended to.

When this place was Neighborhood's under previous management, we used to go there and the service was mediocre at best. The food was pretty good, though, and we'd go every once in a while. We liked the burgers, but most of the girls behind the bar were snobby and not very effective as servers go. Once, when we showed up at the door on ladies' night, the door attendant told us that it didn't apply to accompanied ladies, so my wife was basically barred from enjoying the specials. We had never heard of such a thing, and it seemed like a real put off. We complained to management, and he gave us a card for a free drink next time we came in. We never used it. Since then, it's changed hands and is known as Players, but they've apparently gone for the strip club look. They have this enormous rock fountain out front that used to look ok. Recently they painted all the rocks a truly hideous red color, and now it looks even more like a strip club than before. Between the silly name and the gaudy looking rocks, we don't even want to try it. All we can figure is that they were actually aiming to look more like a place to find bad go-go dancing. We live just a couple of blocks from Players, and have to pass by it a couple times a day going to and from work, and I can honestly say that it's really killed any desire we might have had to go inside. The place looks like it belongs somewhere in Pompano near the Solid Gold, not in a nice Boca neighborhood. Don't know what the managers were thinking. We're not white-haired snow birds by a long stretch, but neither are we the least bit interested in walking into a cheesy, low-brow joint like this appears to be. Maybe they can't change the name too easily, but for goodness' sake, paint the rocks a more natural color. It looks freaking ridiculous. Yech. UPDATE: The rocks have been painted black, thank you! Not to whine, but the image created by the red rocks sucked. Now we might try going there sometime. If we do, I'll update accordingly. Still two stars.

I can't decide whether I liked this place mainly because of the company I shared with one of the sweetest and coolest humans I know, or because it's a big, dark and old-bar smelling bar with good beers on tap, cozy booths and a bunch of pool tables. OK - three stars it is. If you are in this neighborhood and in the mood for a classic no-frills, rough around the edges kind of bar - then come here. After midnight they have some urban-looking DJ action, too, if you're into that. $5 cover. The menu was pretty big but I did not indulge. There was also a tank of live lobsters in the back --with a big claw dangling up top to-- I guess-- grab the poor little suckers. (Maybe it was recycled from an arcade game??) Um - I'll stick to a liquid diet here. I saw no one eating. The bartending ladies call you honey and are quite busty and friendly - again - if you're into that. There are lots of TVs - so it's perfect to hang and catch the game - or just soak in the local rainbow of colorful people here. I'm a player...

Stayed at a hotel nearby and found this place as an inexpensive place to eat. Totally a guy's sports bar, but the service was great and the food was yummy. Didn't like that people could smoke in there...bleck! Good prices and fun atmosphere.

Great happy hour Friday night! Plenty of space so you can come with a big group. Never tried the food, but the drinks were pretty good! Music was on point. Would definitely come back

Let me start by saying I travel a lot for work, and usually frequent the places by my hotel. That being said this place is basically next to my hotel, and was there 3 times. Well my last time was Friday 6-10-10. It was sort of busy with no seats at the bar. I stood at the the end of the bar for a few minutes and waited for a beer. After a few minutes an older guy (manager-owner maybe) came over and said is anyone helping you? I said no but I get it it is busy. So he got me a coors light bottle, I gave him a 5 and he gave me change, it was something odd like 2 dollars and 45 cents change, and a receipt. Ok so now I'am happy with my beer. Eventually I needed another, so I finally scored a seat at the bar. A blonde bar tender with short hair got me my next beer. Same scenario, gave her my 5 and she then gives me the change and walks away, no bills. So I said to myself f-her you just earned your tip for the night. Not my first day at the bar. So now I'am out of cash, had only like 2-3 dollars on my. Went to the ATM and took out 40.00, 2- twenties. Ordered a shot of jager from the same bartender- her name began with a k- anyways she comes back with my change- 4.00. I said how much are these shots, she said 6.00. I said I paid you with a 20.00- she goes no way- and called for the manager to deal with me. It was the same guy who brought me the beer earlier and told him what happened. he offered to take my info and when they count the drawer- blah blah. I said dude that money is in her pocket. THIEF!!! I was so pissed I left and told them I will never return. So you do the math- you wanna spend your money here??
